Tuesday night in the SJHL turned out to be a busy one.
-The Melfort Mustangs have traded 19 year old Taylor Fauchoux to the OCN Blizzard of the MJHL for future considerations. Fauchoux had 1 assist and 8 penalty minutes in three games with the Mustangs this season.
-The Mustangs weren’t done there as they traded 20 year old defenseman Brett Kipling and a prospect to the Melville Millionaires for a pair of 19 year old players in Godric Tham and Jared Williamson. Kipling had two assists for the Mustangs this season and was in the Mils lineup tonight in Nipawin. Tham put up 21 points last season but was scoreless in two games with the Mils this season. Williamson had two points and 61 penalty minutes last season and had been held off the score-sheet in two games this season.
TUESDAY NIGHT SCOREBOARD:
Nipawin Hawks 4 Melville Millionaires 3 (Shootout)
Tad Kozun had two assists and scored the shootout winner as the Hawks move to 5-1 on the season. Davis Jones made 28 saves during regulation and stopped all three shots he faced in the shootout to earn the victory.
Estevan Bruins 6 Humboldt Broncos 5
Dylan Smith and Calder Neufeld combined for 9 points on the night as the Bruins shot the lights out in front of 1002 fans at Spectra Place. Derek Tendler made 19 saves for the victory. Neil Landry and Adam Antkowiak both had two point nights for the Broncos.
Battlefords North Stars 4 Kindersley Klippers 1
Blake Tatchell, Tim Rollins and Jared Kambeitz each had two point nights as the North Stars beat up on the Klippers tonight. Graham Hildebrand made 20 saves for the victory. Tanner Kissick scored the lone goal for the Klippers.
